"VoM and AX"

Friday - June 22, 2007

[Piro] - 08:41:02 - [link here]

I have a rant in the works, which i'll post later this afternoon, but there are three things i wanted to note here this morning:

On Saturday (tomorrow), i will be signing books at the Vault of Midnight in Downtown Ann Arbor, June 23rd, from 3pm to 5pm. This will be at Vault of Midnight's new location in Downtown Ann Arbor, so please drop by if you are in town Saturday. :)

I know this is short notice, but I will be at Anime Expo at the Long Beach Convention center next weekend on SATURDAY ONLY (June 30th). I will be at the CMX booth most of the day, so if you are going to AX, be sure to stop by for signatures and scribbles. :)

Finally, i'm sure you've noticed just how messed up this week has been for me. Technically i managed to draw two comics (i re-did 1015 from scratch) so combined with Hawk's monday post, you could argue that this was a three-comic week :P Between being sick most of the week (feeling much better now, thankfully) and trying to get a handle on taking care of orders at the store, i'm going to target monday for the next comic and see if i can stop tripping over myself here for a while. My trip to AX is a very quick one - Friday night to Sunday afternoon, so my hope is that it wont effect things further.

It's going to take a few rants to cover a lot of the stuff i want to talk about, and i'll post the first installment this afternoon. Also, Dom said something about working on something to post today, so don't say i didn't warn you :P

Because I am the way I am, I occasionally need to explain myself on the internets for people who don't get the jokes.

Firstly, about the SGD and SGD in general: never, ever believe a word I say in an SGD. If you believed what I say in them, I've been arrested as a terrorist, stabbed my boss and co-workers multiple times, and cut off Fred's head on at least two occasions.

The MegaTokyo plans for Otakon are not set at this time. I don't know if I'm going yet, and we don't know what the plans are yet. When Fred and I were talking about possible Otakon scenarios, I figured that this was the most interesting one.

As for what happened 6 years ago at Otakon (which, by the way, was not my last Otakon), you can read our old logs of it in our wayback rant machine. That much is true.

And, finally, the matter of the status bar. Whenever there's an SGD, I will update it with something either brash, challenging, or combative. That is the SGD persona. Remember when I used to call all of you suckers? Or that time I talked about strangling, decapitating, or spleen-stabbing fans? It's the SGD persona. It's unapologetic and combative. It represents neither me nor Fred.

Well, okay, it represents me. But that's beside the point.

I'll be at AX over the weekend, you can take it up with me then - I would try and go incognito, but I really don't think that'll work anymore. Ah well...
