"Mrry Crstm4z!"

[Piro] - 13:03:10 - [link here]

Once again, it's hard to believe that it's been over a year since Seraphim and I posted a ph33rbot Christmas over on YouTube... obvlously, we have not had the time to do a followup to the animatronic dancing cardboard army of doom. :P It's been quite a year for us, and in spite of some of creative issues, i think it's been a good one. Obviously, we've been focusing on Jack's first Christmas for the past week or so, and he's been going through a period of demanding an awful lot of attention... but i understand that babies sorta do this. :)

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, and all the best to you and those close to you. It's going to be a very interesting year next year, as i branch out into some new projects... that said, two comics per week for this week and next, and then I'll jump right into the new year and see if i can get this schedule thing licked once and for all.

Thank you again for your support, and best wishes for a happy new year!

"Add it to the Pile"

If you're wondering where I've been for the past month, you don't have to look much farther than my television and my DS. This last month has been crazy for me in terms of quality releases, and I find myself wondering why everyone else claimed they had this problem in the holiday season, while I'm mired in my favorite games in mid-January.

As I mentioned in a previous rant, I spent about 30 hours playing the remake of Final Fantasy IV for the DS. This was, by far, the hardest RPG I've played in recent memory. Thanks to the game's Decant Ability system, I equipped my characters with some abilities that would be overpowered in many RPGs, like Phoenix (raise the rest of your party when you die) and Target All with Any Spell (great on haste/blink/life2). This meant that it only took me 10 hours to get through the final dungeon. I am not kidding about this - every time I opened a chest and didn't die, I immediately teleported out and saved.

Meanwhile, sitting unloved in my Japanese 360 is Lost Odyssey, which I've barely touched. Mass Effect, by all accounts a wonderfully fun game, is sitting at a friend's house, where I'm told he's enjoying it immensely - it still won't dislodge Rock Band from its well-earned throne in my American 360. Right now, I'm dedicated to playing and finishing Super Robot Wars OG Gaiden, which will probably take another couple of weeks. I'm having fun, but good lord is the SRW series a giant timesuck.

Looming at the end of this month are three more big games, all of which I'm looking forward to and all of which will promptly be thrown onto the "unopened, unplayed, will play soon" pile as soon as they arrive at my door. First among these is Devil May Cry 4, which saddens me in its release schedule - if it'd come out just a little later or a little sooner, it would be my #1 priority, but as it is, I think the only thing that will convince me to play the game any earlier than currently scheduled is a panicked phone call from Opus Croakus' wife telling me that the game has reached out and stopped his heart. And even then, I'd only think about it.

Second of these games is Disgaea 3, which is the sole reason I'm buying a PS3. This promises to eat two months of my life.

The third is the new Advance Wars for the Nintendo DS. Note that I love Advance Wars so much that I played it after my car accident.

All I have to say is, it's been nice knowing you folks, and I'll see you around April. Maybe.
